 STOP THE VIOLENCE INC. was formed in upstate New York, by Karen Clay. This nonprofit organization is dedicated to stopping and preventing domestic violence. STOP THE VIOLENCE INC., provides shelter, housing, legal aide, advocate services and counseling to all of our clients free of charge. It does not matter what your income level is. Services are provided free of charge to all.
STOP THE VIOLENCE INC. began as a web page in May of 1998 and was received in the first 6 weeks with over 200,000 hits. Karen started the organization with funds that she received from family members and friends. Karen Clay was herself a battered woman and credits NYS Trooper BCI investigator Jerome Holland with saving her life.

To provide education, assistance, and support to individuals, dedicated TO ENDING Domestic Violence. To provide free of charge to ALL VICTIMS no matter what GENDER, CREED, COLOR, RACE OR SEXUAL PREFERENCE OR RELIGION all services including
advocate, court, counseling, housing, employment, medical, food, clothing, transportation and any other needs.
To help victims recover from domestic violence and to provide all resources so they NEVER AGAIN RETURN TO A DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SITUATION.
